Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis yesterday met with British Foreign Minister William Hague and Minister for Europe David Lidington at the British Foreign Office in London. Following the meeting, Bagis attended a work luncheon which was given in his honor by Lidington. Bagis also met with William Cash, Chairman of the European Scrutiny Committee in the House of Commons, as well as Lord John Roper, Chairman of the EU Committee of the House of Lords, and then attended a round table meeting entitled "Overcoming European Challenges: Time for a New Perspective" which was organized by the Chatham House. The meeting and discussions were closed to press. Bagis also answered questions from Stephen Sackur on BBC World, saying that Turkey's membership is as important for EU as it is for Turkey. "This is a relationship based on a win-win situation. And either we all win, or we'll have to look at the situation, but the continuation of the talks is very important," Bagis noted.
