Erdogan to open Arenamega in Istanbul

Amphitheatre Arenamega, built by the municipality of Kucukcekmece in Halkali district of Istanbul will be opened by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday. Aziz Yeniay, mayor of Kucukcekmece said that Arenamega would not only serve the entire country, but also international organizations, adding that Arenamega, a functional and visual complex built on 30 acres of land with a great capacity and technical infrastructure, will host both national and international organizations. Arenamega will also host cultural and art activities such as concerts of worldwide known artists. Yeniay described Arenamega, with its architectural design, as a modern interpretation of the library of Celsus, one of the world heritages built in ancient Rome in Ephesus. Yeniay also said that Arenamega was a very important investment to host all kinds of activities with its indoor sports hall, concert hall and multifunctional lyceum. Arenemega has a total capacity of 35 thousand spectators. In addition, the center has a three floor parking garage with a capacity of 600 cars. Its 704 square meter stage is the largest one in Europe.
