Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis informed his French addressees on new projects in the Turkish education system on Thursday in Paris. "We will distribute 16 million tablet computers to students within the scope of FATIH project. There are also developments with regards to internet connection. It is important for a student in Siirt to follow a project in Japan and a student in Izmir to access El Ezher curriculum online," Bagis said. This issue would also be on the agenda of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who will meet Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in Ankara today. 12,800 tablet computers have been distributed to 52 schools in 17 provinces for pilot regions of the project until now.
