A cartography exhibition is drawing big interest after opening in Croatia, where Turkish TV series "Muhteşem Yuzyil" (The Magnificent Century) is very popular. The exhibition, titled "Sultan Suleyman's Cartographer Piri Reis," will visit four Croatian cities and will then move on to Slovenia and Italy. The exhibition is being organized by the Turkish Underwater Archaeology Foundation (TINA) in Rijeka. UNESCO declared 2013 the "Year of Piri Reis," due to the 500th anniversary of his World Map 1513. TINA President Oguz Aydemir said visits to the exhibition had been higher than expectations since the opening in May. The exhibition would move to the cities of Porec, Zagreb and Dubrovnik.
