US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State pledges support for Turkey

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian AffairsEric Rubin, who has traveled to Turkey to hold a series of visits in border provinces, made evaluations at the US Consulate in Adana.  Rubin defined the internal conflicts as Syria as a "tragedy," saying that they have been concerned with sufferings of the people living in that country. Rubin also said that Turkey had to face vitally important problems due to the internal conflict in Syria, adding, "I would like to stress that we are devoted to Turkey’s security and protection." Rubin also said that the US was doing that, as Turkey has been a NATO member, as well as a friend and ally to the US for half a century.
