Istanbul to host conference on reviving silk road

The World Congress of the International Road Transportation Union's conference on reviving the Silk Road is set to be held in Istanbul on May 15-16. Transportation ministers of nearly 70 countries are expected to attend the conference. In light of the rising trade volume between Eastern and Western countries, participants will focus on the importance of reviving the historic Silk Road. Barriers to global transportation and proposals for solutions will also be discussed. Officials at the conference are expected to sign a roadmap agreement for reviving the ancient trade route.
