15th Eurasia Economic Summit ends
The closing session of the 15th Eurasian Economic Summit which gathered active and former presidents of several countries in the Aegean city of Izmir was held yesterday. Furthermore, six entrepreneurs who have contributed to the summit were granted an award on sidelines of the session. Speaking at the event, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said that Turkey was lucky at a time of crisis, and thus capable of employing 3.4 million Turkish citizens. "The world has to find jobs for 600 million people in the upcoming decade. It will be difficult to ensure this with poor growth rates," Simsek said, adding, "A hadith says that one should be abstinent, whereas conventional science of economy says that needs are endless, but resources are scarce. Therefore I'm of the opinion that maybe we need a new philosophy and point of view." Simsek also informed participants on the importance they attach to health, research and development, investments and finance system, as well as related projects.
