1st Red Tulip Turkish Films Festival kicks off

The First Red Tulip Film Festival, which aims to promote Turkish films in the Netherlands, kicked off in Rotterdam with a ceremony yesterday. The festival opened with a screening of Erden Kiral's "Burden" (Yuk), and the presentation of an honorary award to actress Demet Akbag in recognition of her success. The festival, which was organized under the umbrella of the Culture and Tourism Ministry and Netherlands-Turkey Cultural Foundation with the support of Rotterdam Municipality, will present 26 Turkish feature-length editing, documentary and short films until June 9.
