The 1st Turkish Products Exhibition was organized under the leadership of the Istanbul Chamber of Trade (ITO) for the first time in  Mexico with a population of 115 million and a national income totaling $1.150 trillion. The exhibition to remain open on October 3 and 6  was organized on an area of 5,000 square meters with the participation of 86 firms, 59 of which are from Istanbul. As part of the  exhibition, Turkish firms seized the opportunity of their products in 30 different fields ranging from automotive to machinery, and textile  and food. Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, ITO Executive Board Deputy Chairman Dursun Topcu said that the two countries  came to the forefront as shining centers of attraction. "Turkey serves as a bridge between the east and west. Similarly, Mexico, a  NAFTA member, serves the same purpose between the US and Latin American countries. Although the two countries enjoy a great  trade potential, this potential could not have been utilized sufficiently," Topcu said.
