3rd Turkish vessel to carry out seismic exploration Mediterranean
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said yesterday that a new Turkish vessel would set sail on Monday for the Mediterranean to carry out seismic exploration. Stating that there were already two Turkish vessels which have been performing seismic exploration in the Mediterranean, Yildiz said that the new vessel called Burgen Surveyor would conduct three-dimensional exploration on an area of approximately 1,100 square meters. He added that Turkey’s seismic exploration would continue on northern, southern and western coasts off Cyprus in line with the continental shelf limitation as required by an agreement signed between the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
