Ahead of a meeting of Syrian opposition groups next week in Antalya, on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, Damascus has announced plans to replace its ambassador to Ankara. Though Abdullah Dardari, the former deputy prime minister for economic affairs, is set to replace Nidal Kabalan, the latter told reporters yesterday that he had not received any formal notification of the change. Damascus has informed Ankara of the replacement and is now expecting a response, the Anatolia news agency reported. In recent comments, Kabalan criticized the meetings of the Syrian opposition in Turkey due to the presence of members of the Muslim Brotherhood.
