Arinc attends screening of Turkish documentary in Paris

 "The River Flowing Westward," a Turkish documentary film was screened at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Saturday. The documentary was produced by the Bahcesehir University with the support of the Promotion Fund of the Prime Ministry and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). The UNESCO event was attended by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, UNESCO Permanent Representative Ambassador Gurcan Balik, France's Junior Minister for French Living Abroadand Francophony Yamina Benguigui, President of Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures Andre Azoulay, UNESCO Honorary Ambassador Samuel Pisar, TRT General Director Ibrahim Sahin, Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees President Enver Yucel, MEDAM Founding President Professor Bekir Karliga, as well as a great many politicians, academics and historians. Speaking to the audience, Arinc said, "This documentary contributes to efforts to showcase the deep interactions between the civilizations of the East and West." For his part, Yucel said that one could hear whispers of peace, culture and coexistence from the Anatolian territory.
