Arinc evaluates official visit to Paris
Speaking to the Star daily, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc evaluated his recent official visit to Paris. Arinc said that he met with French Defense Minister Jean-Yves le Drian and that France was interested in defense projects in Turkey. "Le Drian talked about their work in missile warheads and defense industry, but he didn't mention any concrete project. This could be at our agenda in our next visits," Arinc said, adding that the Turkish delegation has brought forward the Armenian issue and Turkey's relations with the EU during his meeting with the defense minister. In response to our question whether the issue would turn into a crisis as we approach April 24, Arinc said that he did not think so. Arinc added that the work carried out by Turkey's group of wise people which takes an active role in efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue has been closely followed in Europe and that the peace process has created a positive atmosphere also in the opposition circles against Turkey.
