Aselsan climbing ladder of world's 100 defense industry giants

Leading Turkish defense company Aselsan last year rose through the ranks of the top 100 global defense corporations, according to US-based Defense News magazine. The magazine published its top 100 list late last month. With successful projects both at home and abroad, Aselsan is continuing to climb the ladder of defense industry companies. In 2008, Aselsan was the 93rd largest defense corporation in the world and last year, the company rose seven spots to number 86. In addition to well-known firm Fujitsu, two Russian defense firms and renowned Brazilian aerospace corporation Embraer came behind Aselsan on the list. The US' Lockheed Martin Corporation was number one, followed by Britain's BAE Systems in the number two spot.
