Azerbaijan's independence celebrated at reception

The 94th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan was celebrated at a reception in the Turkish capital, Ankara. Hosted by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov at the Sheraton Hotel, the reception brought together a number of prominent guests, among them Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, Presidential Secretary-General Mustafa Isen, Gendarmerie Commander Gen. Bekir Kalyoncu and Naval Forces Commander Adm. Murat Bilgel. After the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were sung, Bagirov described the struggle for Azerbaijan's independence, his country's close ties with Turkey and the evolution and growth of Azerbaijan's economy. Yildiz said he gave both countries the full 12 points in the recent Eurovision contest.
