Bagis: "Those responsible for the terrorist attacks in Norway are similar to PKK militants"
The perpetrators of the weekend terrorist attacks in Norway are similar to PKK militants who stage attacks in Turkey, said European Union Affairs Minister Egemen Bagis yesterday, adding that countries should understand that international cooperation is needed to effectively combat terrorism. The attack in Norway was not only a national tragedy but also a global one, and the EU needs to implement a principled policy, said Bagis. "Turkey's current government has been combating terrorism for nine years," he said. "We seek real, concrete and resolute cooperation against terrorism. As we work to bolster our democratic standards, we are also fighting terrorism. Our security departments, special units and gendarmerie forces have been working very hard."
