Bagis visits London
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis yesterday attended a dinner as part of a meeting of the International Sustainability Unit hosted by Prince Charles of Wales and attended by agriculture ministers from 30 countries. Reportedly, Bagis noted that opening the food safety chapter to membership talks within the EU accession process was a very important development for Turkey, adding that new steps regarding food safety in Turkey has impressed the participating agriculture ministers. During his visit to London, Bagis also gave a speech at the London School of Economics, saying that Turkey is getting stronger on its path to become a global power. Stating that a strong Europe could not be established without Turkey, Bagis said that Turkey was ready to rescue Europe from the crisis.
