Ban: "It's time for a political solution on Cyprus"

The time has come for a solution on Cyprus, said UN Secretary- General Ban Ki-Moon on Monday. Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Christofias in Lefkosa's buffer zone, Ban praised recent progress in negotiations, adding that the UN is ready to extend full support. "My aim is to get fruit from our efforts," Talat added. For his part, Christofias said, "I'm ready to continue the process with Talat."
