Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) deputy leader Nachirvan Barzani yesterday arrived in Turkey upon the invitation of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and met with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Stating that Masoud Barzani, president of northern Iraq's regional government, is likely to visit Turkey as soon as possible, he said that they stood in solidarity with Turkey following these attacks, which should never result in deterioration between Turks and Kurds. The news about a surprising visit also came from Iran, stating that Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will arrive in Ankara today. Salehi is expected to be received by Erdogan to discuss joint steps to be taken with regard to fighting terrorism.
