Addressing a weekend main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) campaign rally in the central Anatolian province of Kirsehir for the March 29 local elections, CHP leader Deniz Baykal said that Turkey's debt has more than doubled from $220 billion when the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) took office in 2002 to $500 billion today. Stating that Turkey's economic state isn't a reflection of the world crisis, he said, "It was caused solely by bad economy policies."
