A large economic mission from Belgium, led by Crown Prince Phillippe, will pay a four-day visit to Turkey on October 15-19 with the participation of 193 companies, 320 businessmen, 42 public sector representatives and 16 journalists. The delegation will hold meetings with President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, as well as with Turkish business associations in Istanbul. Speaking to reporters yesterday, Belgian Ambassador to Turkey Pol de Witte said that Prince Philippe’s visit would focus mainly on economic issues, and that he expected the trade volume between the two countries which amounted to $7.8 billion in 2011 to surpass $10 billion in 2012 thanks to this visit.
