Bozdag attends international donors conference for Darfur in Qatar

The International Donors Conference for Darfur was held in Qatar on Sunday with the participation of First Vice President of Sudan Ali Osman Taha, Arab League Secretary General Nebil al-Arabi, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and representatives from the UN and the African Union. Speaking at the opening session, Bozdag said that Turkey extended every type of help to solve Darfur problem and that donor countries had big responsibilities in providing the required financing. "Turkey is fully supporting the efforts of Sudanese government, Arab League, African Union and UN to restore fair and permanent peace in Darfur," Bozdag said, adding that the Turkish hospital in Nyala, capital of South Darfur, would be opened soon.
