Bozkurt supports Turkey's efforts on preparing a new constitution

Emine Bozkurt, a member of the European Parliament, said yesterday that they have been closely following the democratization process in Turkey and that a new constitution would amazingly support Turkey's EU membership process. Speaking in a conference on the "Future of EU: With or without Turkey" which was organized in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands last week, Bozkurt said that that the 1982 constitution of Turkey was not fit for Turkey, and thus Turkey needs a new constitution prioritizing freedoms. Bozkurt added that they attach importance to efforts exerted by Turkey on the issue and that the entire society should support the process of preparing a new constitution.
