Bread and blanket for Syria

 

"Bread and Blanket for Syria", an aid campaign initiated by a group of Turkish civil society organizations, has been strongly reverberated in the Turkish public opinion even before the official launch, the organizers of the effort have said. The online campaign at websites www.suriyeicinbirekmek.com and www.breadforsyria.com in Turkish, English and Arabic is aimed at extending humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees who faces severe shortages of food and electricity as well as cold weather in camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq as well as internally displaced Syrians. Organizers have said preparations were underway all over Turkey to make contributions to the aid campaign, which is set to be officially introduced next Monday in Turkey and in the international in January.
