Opening the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), PACE President and Turkish parliamentarian Mevlut Cavusoglu welcomed Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as the body's guest. Saying that PACE will discuss the religious dimensions of intercultural dialogue this session, Cavusoglu also touched on developments in the Arab world, saying that the dignity of humanity, human rights, democracy and the rule of law – all values advocated by the council – have again been proven universal values.
