Mevlut Cavusoglu, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said yesterday that a change should occur through healthy, peaceful and democratic ways in countries experiencing the Arab Spring. Speaking at a conference on "Turkey’s Mission in Arab Spring and Europe’s Outlook on Arab Spring and Turkey," Cavusoglu reiterated that the uprising in Tunis was sparked, when a person put himself to fire, saying, "We consider the Arab Spring as a consequence of pursuit of democracy, human rights and rule of law carried out by the people living in these countries," said Cavusoglu. Stating that Morocco was granted the partner for democracy status in June and Palestinian National Council was recruited as a member in October by PACE, Cavusoglu said that it would make Kyrgyzstan a member upon a request made by the country.
