Top information, technology and communication platform for the Eurasia region, CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia, opened its doors to visitors for the 14th time on Thursday in Istanbul. The inauguration ceremony was held with the participation of Youth and Sports Minister Suat Kilic and Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis. In his opening speech, Bagis pointed to the risk of technology terror and said that terrorism was carried out not only by the armed militants but also by social media terrorists. Also addressing the audience, Minister Kilic referred to his ministry's project aimed at offering free broadband Internet connections in state dormitories for university students, making it possible for 310,000 students to stay online and called on participating firms at the fair to provide university students with personal computers at affordable prices, "without prioritizing profits."  The fair, which will be open until Oct. 27, is expected to receive 150,000 visitors.
