Chiago enjoys colorful Turkish world festival

Held in Chicago, the US by a Chicago-based Turkish association, Turkish American Society of Chicago (TASC), the Turkish World Festival, which started over the weekend and will run through tomorrow, is receiving great interest from local people. During the first two days of the event, inaugurated by Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun, the parade of a group of Janissary band of Ottoman military (Mehter Takimi) from Istanbul's Fatih municipality, and the performance of a group of whirling dervishes from the Konya Greater Municipality in the central Anatolia drew great interest.
