The ruling Justice and Development Party's (AK Party) declining share of the vote in Sunday's local elections shows a significant political break, said main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal yesterday. Speaking to reporters at CHP headquarters, Baykal said that the opposition parties are on the rise and that the ruling party should admit that it's losing popular support. He also said that the election shows that the CHP should prepare itself for new tasks.
