Cicek reelected as parliament speaker

Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek was re-elected by members of the Turkish Parliament as speaker for the legislative body in the third round of the voting on Tuesday. Cicek has become the Turkish Parliament's 26th speaker. His runner ups were Faruk Bal from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Osman Koruturk from the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP). Elections for the post are held every two years.
