Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek made important statements on the necessity of a motion to join an international coalition against the Syrian regime yesterday. "All of the developments taking place in Syria are of particular concern to Turkey. As a result, Turkey will meticulously evaluate all of the related dimensions. Yet, above all, it should be decided that to what extend Turkey will be included in this process," Cicek said. Underlying the fact that Turkish government had a strong motion authorizing the Turkish army and its government to take necessary measures against threats from Syria, Cicek added as follows: "If events dictate different needs, we will ask the Parliament for a motion. Although the Turkish Grand National Assembly is in its summer recess, an emergency meeting to vote a new motion can be scheduled, if necessary."
