Conservative MP: "No country is more important for Britain than Turkey"

British Conservative MP Liam Fox yesterday said that there's no country more important for Britain's national security than Turkey, but that due to anti-Turkey feelings and even xenophobia in the European Union, alliance between the two countries is imperiled. Speaking to the Conservative Party Friends of Turkey group, Fox scolded Turkey-skeptics, saying that Turkey has great importance for its geopolitical status, NATO membership, and role in energy security.
