Acting as the rotating president of the Libya Contact Group, Turkey is to host an extraordinary meeting of the group in Istanbul today (Thursday) in order to discuss financial aid for the restoration and talk about the NATO–led military operations in Libya, as the country's oppositional forces still battle the remaining phalanx of the Gaddafi regime back home in Tripoli. The international Libya Contact Group consisting of countries that are involved in efforts to stabilize Libya is to gather in Istanbul on Thursday to discuss ways of assisting the National Transitional Council (NTC). They will focus on the process of stabilization in the country that is still suffering from a suspended crisis between various oppositional forces and Muammar Gaddafi’s more than 40-year-old regime which is believed to be living through its last moments.
