Council of Europe human rights commissioner visits Istanbul, Ankara

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg, after arriving in Istanbul on Sunday to look at Turkey 's human rights situation, met with representatives of the various non-governmental organizations and then proceeded to Ankara . There Hammarberg met with Parliament Human Rights Investigation Commission Head Zafer Uskul, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ertugrul Apakan, and Interior Ministry Undersecretary Osman Gunes, and was also received by President Abdullah Gul.
