Counter-terrorism forum officially launched
The Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF), an international organization established by the EU and 29 countries in order to fight terrorism in a more effective way, was officially launched yesterday in New York. As the co-hosts, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered opening speeches. Davutoglu said that the GCTF would assume a critical role in terms of fighting terrorism as a global forum and that Turkey would like to host an administrative body of the GCTF in Istanbul in the future. Speaking on her part, Clinton thanked both Davutoglu and Turkey and said that they aimed at fighting terrorism in cooperation and that GCTF will be an important platform to share specialty and experience.
