Davutoglu holds contacts with world leaders
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met on Wednesday in New York, discussing Turkish-Israeli relations, Iraq and NATO issues, as well as the controversial anti-Islam movie "Innocence of Muslims." Diplomatic sources said Clinton and Davutoglu exchanged views on ways to strengthen the Syrian opposition and ensure that the international community gets politically more active. Davutoglu also informed Clinton on the current situation of Syrian refugees in Turkey. For her part, Clinton thanked Davutoglu for Turkey's clear remarks about the Innocence of Muslims from the very beginning. As part of his contacts in New York, Davutoglu also held bilateral talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
