Davutoglu meets with Mexican counterpart
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with his Mexican counterpart Jose Antonio Maede Kuribrena at the Foreign Ministry in Ankara. Speaking at a joint press conference, Davutoglu touched on European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton's meeting with ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi late on Monday. "Permanent stability in the region is only possible with governments that come to power with the people's will. It is of great importance for Egypt to pass through a democratic restoration in order to maintain stability in the country," Davutoglu said, adding, "I have previously stated that the meetings in Egypt would have no meaning without meeting with Morsi. Following her meeting with Morsi, Ashton called and informed me about the meeting. I agreed to be in regular contact with Ashton."
