The unwillingness of some European Union members to see Turkey join the bloc has stalled Turkey's membership talks, charged Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu yesterday. "No one can blame Turkey, since no chapter (in our negotiations) has been opened for a year now," said Davutoglu at a press conference in Brussels, alongside State Minister and Chief EU Talks Negotiator Egemen Bagis, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule, and Janos Martonyi, the foreign minister of EU Term President Hungary. At the press conference, Bagis also criticized the EU's visa policy. "The moment Turks are least likely to feel European is when they wait in visa lines," said Bagis.
