Davutoglu reiterates Turkey's support for Palestine
Turkey has extended its support for Palestine prior to a voting which was held in New York yesterday with regard to recognizing a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly, resulting in providing Palestine with the status of "non-member observer state." Before the voting, Davutoglu met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and made a speech at the UN General Assembly, reiterating Turkey's support for the country. "We have gathered here for correcting a historical injustice against the Palestinian people. For that future we should all together have to stand behind the Palestinian bid to become a non-member observer state. This is a moment of truth for all of us. We are all aware that, the right of the Palestinians to a State has been unfortunately denied for decades," Davutoglu said.
