Davutoglu to travel to Africa to discuss Libya, famine crisis
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will travel to Africa later this month to discuss coordinating Turkish and African Union efforts to solve Libya's ongoing crisis. "We previously scheduled a trip to Ethiopia and South Africa for Aug. 19-20. Following recent developments, we may add more countries so that we can discuss both Libya and famine in Somalia," Davutoglu told reporters during a joint press conference with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Alhaji Mohammad Mumuni. Davutoglu also said he would have talks with Jean Ping, the head of the African Union, during his trip. "Turkey was planning to send an aid plane to Somalia's capital Mogadishu later this week," he added.
