Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu traveled to Myanmar on Thursday as part of a delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on the Rohingya Muslims of the South Asian country to review their situation. The delegation will include participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh as well as Turkey. Before his departure, Davutoglu told a press conference that the Democratic Union Party (PYD) must adopt a certain attitude. Referring to the PYD's declaration of an interim administration, Davutoglu said that exhibiting an attitude which would cause division means playing with fire. Touching on his visit to Myanmar, Davutoglu said, "Myanmar is an important country to Turkey and we will do our part to help the Muslim minority there." Davutoglu added that he would also hold bilateral talks and they would visit both Muslim and Buddhist camps in Myanmar.
