Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu yesterday reiterated Turkey's determination to fight the terrorist PKK, which is also nested in northern Iraq, after talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari. Turkey has lost patience in the fight against terrorists based in camps in the mountains of northern Iraq, Davutoğlu said yesterday speaking during a joint press conference with the Iraqi minister at the Foreign Ministry. Davutoglu said that Turkey would continue to take every type of security measure against the terrorist PKK. Davutoğlu also praised Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who said on Monday that sending Iraqi troops to the northern Iraq was the best option to push out members of the PKK and its Iranian wing, PJAK, from there. "If Iraq really ensures full military control on its own soil, this would be important both for Iraq's capacity to control its own soil and for preventing terrorist activities against Turkey. In that case, Turkey will have no need to stage cross-border operations," Davutoglu said.
