Democracy package to be announced by Erdogan

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will announce the content of a new democracy package that is hoped to be finalized at a meeting to be attended by leading members of the government on Friday. A meeting was held at the AKP headquarters in Ankara yesterday with the participation of Deputy Prime Ministers Besir Atalay, Bulent Arinc and Bekir Bozdag, Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik, Minister of Interior Muammer Guler, ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) leader Numan Kurtulmus and deputy leader Huseyin Celik, Prime Ministry Undersecretary Efkan Ala, chief advisor to the prime minister Yalcin Akdogan and head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan. During the meeting, the course of the settlement process that was launched by the government to settle the country's terrorism problem and the democracy package were discussed. After the second meeting, Erdogan will announce the content of the democracy package. "In the days following the meeting on Friday, the points over which a consensus was reached at the meetings will be announced to the public by Mr. Prime Minister," Celik said on Wednesday.
