Deputy PM Babacan presents Turkey in Silicon Valley
As a part of his visits to the US, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan paid a visit to the Silicon Valley, accompanied by President of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarciklioglu. Speaking with the representative of leading energy and technology sector, Babacan informed them on the investment facilities in Turkey, giving the example of tax advantages and tax exemption provided to techno parks working in collaboration with universities. Noting that Turkey has recorded significant economic leap within a short period, Babacan addressed Turkey as an ideal destination for investments thanks to its robust economy. Babacan also represented the Fatih Project of Turkey in the technology hub of the US in his talks with the General Electric officials. Stating that 11 million students will be provided with tablet pc with the project total cost of which amounts to $8 million, Babacan said every school will be equipped with fiber optic internet.
