In a statement he delivered in a conference, Muharrem Yilmaz, President of Turkish Industrialists & Businessmen Association (TUSIAD), Mr. Yilmaz said that with the new airports, highways and communications facilities to be opened in such cities as Sirnak, Cizre, Hakkari and in many others, they do believe that a brand new future is ahead for the Eastern part of Turkey. "According to the analysis we have conducted, if the Eastern part of Turkey prospers and progresses, it will certainly make a major contribution to the economic development of Turkey" he added. Reminding the conference TUSIAD held in Cizre a few months ago, Mr. Yilmaz touched upon the fact that the eagerness and enthusiasm that the Turkish entrepreneurs and businesspersons showed to participate in the meeting held in Cizre demonstrated how Turkish people attached great importance to the resolution of the biggest problem of Turkey. He also mentioned that the peace process and cease-fire in the region made great contributions to the economy of the region and Turkey as a whole in a short period and they expect it to progress more and more with the new airport and highway construction plans in the region.
