Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday met with 941 students who will be sent abroad with scholarships for postgraduate study as part of the Education Ministry's 5,000 Students in 5 Years program. Speaking to the students, Erdogan said that investments in science should never be seen as expensive and that over the last seven years, Turkey got 63 new universities. Erdogan also urged the students to work as public ambassadors promoting Turkey at the schools they attend. They should help dispel prejudices about Turkey and also forge ties with Turkish citizens in those countries, he added.
