Erdogan congratulates Obama on election win

Speaking to reporters in Bali, Indonesia, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated US President Barack Obama on his re-election and said Turkish-US ties, already seen in Ankara to be in their "golden age," will develop even further during the US president's second term in office. Stating that the strategic partnership between the two countries has been turned into model partnership during his term of office, Erdogan congratulated him on behalf of himself and his country for his success. "We will carry our relations to a further point in the new era," said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was also among the first world leaders to congratulate Obama on his victory on Wednesday. Erdogan added that he would personally phone Obama today to convey his congratulations again.
