Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accompanied by State Minister and chief negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagiş, today starts a two-day visit to Brussels in a bid to give new life to Turkey's European Union accession talks. Erdogan recently told EU ambassadors in Ankara that Turkey is committed to EU reforms and is on an irreversible path towards democracy and the rule of law. Turkey has so far opened 10 out of the 35 negotiating chapters and hopes to start a new one this week on taxation.
