Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday met with Prime Minister of Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani in Ankara. The two-hour meeting which was closed to press was also attended by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Reportedly, the outlawed PKK's laying down of arms, implementation of the peace process aimed at resolving the Kurdish issue in Turkey, as well as developments in Iraq and the Middle East were discussed during the meeting. Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Iraq's regional Kurdish government spokesman Sefin Dizayee said that they supported the peace process initiated by Erdogan and they were ready to give a helping hand as much as they could. "All of the armed PKK members are not Turkish citizens. They also consist of Iranian, Syrian and Iraqi Kurds. The problem should be solved in such a way that Iraqi ones return to Iraq, those from Turkey return to Turkey, in other words, everybody should be able to return to his own country or city. I guess the majority of them will be able to return to their countries," Dizayee added.
