Erdogan: "Chapters will not suffice, we want to see results"
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Bidzina Ivanishvili, Prime Minister Erdogan urged France and Germany to be sincere about the PKK issue. "What we care about is the results of the steps taken by both Germany and France. We need to see the outcome. They have taken some steps for 10 years, but steps without results unfortunately. We have an extradition agreement. There are agreements concerning the joint fight against terrorist organizations. While they say that there have been many legal cases in the years following the recognition of the terrorist organization as a terrorist organization, we see no results," said Prime Minister. Erdogan also commented on Turkey's relations with the EU, saying, "France had blocked five chapters in our EU membership negotiations. Now we witness a positive attitude concerning Chapter 22. The Irish presidency could positively affect Turkey's EU process. We will wait and see."
